About this user
Lexington Universal Circuit is a nonpartisan journal of economics and politics headquartered at Bernard M. Baruch College, and launched during the Fall Semester of 2009. It was founded by Michael Pinto-Fernandes and Sarwat Joarder with the support of fellow students and faculty. These two founders imagined an online space that allowed students and academic professionals to discuss and respond to current economic and political realities through opinion based research pieces.. This journal is supported by the Bernard L. Schwartz Communication Institute at Baruch College, and was made possible by the assistance of Dr. Lucas Waltzer, Project Manager for Digital Learning, and Dr. Mikhail Gershovich, Director of the Schwartz Communication Institute.
This publications purpose is not merely to present the news, but rather to create healthy discussions and lively debates on a vast array of vital issues that shape the direction of our dynamic society. Given that the world is increasingly becoming globalized, it is vital that we broaden our minds as the world broadens itself. With the collective participation of writers and readers across the world, we hope to create a unique learning environment that serves as a medium for innovative thought and analysis.
Even though the views expressed in our journal come from a diverse body of thinkers across the globe, we can all agree on at least one principle. This principle is that although we might disagree with each other from time to time, it is imperative that we also vigilantly defend our natural rights of free speech.
