HAL.DLL (Hardware Abstraction Layer, as said before) is, if I'm not mistaken, as it's called, a simplified and standardized image of the hardware to ease software access. It's sorta' like OOP, just in an OS instead of a programming language.

@terminalblue I hate how this has to be the case; sure, most RTS games are rather good, but nothing stands out. I'm somewhat an enthusiast of the genre, and can say that Starcraft, Warcraft, Dawn of War, and the works were rather amazing, but then this. This is godlike.
