Previously, my record multiplier (a self record) was 63. This is far more extreme, 84. Level 4 is the only place where high multipliers are easy enough to get. 23x is my record for level 2. Trouble is, if you get into the steam area or use a teleporter, the multiplier is reset. 13x is my record in level 3, but I can't easily get more because of a bug in the game where the multiplier stops counting because the loop counter stops activating, the case when you get stuck at the top of the loop causes the counter to stop activating after some time. The only 2 ways the multiplier resets in level 4 is if you enter Robotnik's ship or, like with all other levels, die.
The frequent pausing in this video is a trick I've known for 20+ years that works with almost any game, though best used with older games. The process involves 6 steps. Pause the game. Identify the situation. Determine how you need to act. Unpause the game. Act accordingly. Repause the game. Repeat this time and time again. If you need more time to figure out what to do, keep the game paused longer and plan out your strategy. With virtual pinball games, it's very easy to get a game that seems like it was from a professional pinball player, even if you're otherwise unskilled or totally new to pinball. Of course, it's not just pinball, it's pretty much any game. Why does this work? Easy: it eliminates human reaction time issues. 280 ms or so is the typical reaction time. This method, in a way, reduces this to 50 ms. Pausing also helps a lot with timing, making timing far better. Today's 3D games don't need this pausing trick anywhere near as much, but there are some games where could be especially handy. Master pausing and you can master pretty much any game in the first playthrough.

8.4 billion damage in a single hit is quite likely the world record (it's unconfirmed). With the same setup in the previous video, I was aiming for seeing if I could get past 8.59 billion damage. Unfortunately, I didn't, but I came within 160 million of that point. To date, this is the highest single hit damage I've ever done without the use of the "disperse damage" effect, of which can get very close to, but just short of 20 billion.

350 billion is probably (unconfirmed) the world record for the most total damage in the US PS2 version of Disgaea 2. That's over 1/3 of a trillion total damage and my 2 strongest characters alone contribute 80% of that. My most powerful character alone does over 8 billion damage in a single hit (which, in itself, may be a world record for without the use of the disperse damage effect). Getting desperate for skill mastery needs, I was running through the Land of Carnage looking for an "attack+3" setup with an ice-immune slug enemy present (since I don't have one of my own), or "attack+2" with either an "invincibility" or "reverse damage" pyramid with it. Knowing that if I just had an enemy with the "invincibility" effect alone, I could just use geo change and hope I get the offensive group. The offensive group, relating to geo symbols, has the "attack+1", "ATK+50%", and "DEF-50%" effects present, effects geared toward maximizing damage. (The offensive group is also very handy for quickly getting skill mastery.)
I had no idea what I was in store for when I was going through this junk item as part of phase 4 of my item perfection method. I saw an enemy with "invincibility" and "ATK+50%". Desperate for skill mastery, I decided to use geo change with this to see if I got anything and, to my surprise, I got the offensive group with a setup so great that easily saw the potential for doing over 100 billion total damage and possibly seeing what happened when the base damage exceeded 4.3 billion. I didn't get the latter case albeit less than 50 million short of the goal, but I more than exceeded the total damage case. I didn't have enough targets for breaking a half trillion total damage (thanks in part to one of the pyramids having that "rabbit" under it, causing it to move) but I had enough for breaking past not 100 billion, but 300 billion total damage, a whole 1/3 of a trillion! With 2 extra "ATK+50%" pyramids and "attack+3", I knew I had the setup so I spent time building up the stay-in-one-spot combo then going all out for extreme total damage.
The preparation was rather tough as it took a while to plan out how I want to go about processing it and clearing out the unwanted enemies. By having one character on a panel not affected by invincibility and luring the enemy with the invincibility effect to a panel adjacent to it, lifting that enemy can temporarily remove the invincibility effect, to allow for anti-fire to take effect. By canceling the lift action, I was thus able to get the invincibility effect back, allowing the wizards to obliterate the 6 targets I had with one massive combo, saving the 2 most powerful for last, of which have 40 million for INT with magic boost and Rozalin (Rozalin for only one of them though).
One thing you may be wondering on is why are the 2 most powerful characters doing 7 billion damage when they should only be doing about 3 billion. There is a strange bug in the game causing that. When damage exceeds 2,147,483,647 (which is 2^31-1), the limit of a signed 32-bit integer, the game mysteriously adds another 4,294,967,296 (which is 2^32) to the total. This makes the lowest allowed damage after the 2 billion case 6,442,450,944. The only way to get 5 billion and the like popping out is to use the "disperse damage" effect, best done when you have a "clone" effect as well. Now, as to what happens when you exceed 8,589,934,592 (which is 2^33) for the popup, that I don't know and I'm now eager to find out. I came within 160 million of that mark (see my next video segment), so close, but not close enough (and yet, that difference is 8 times the HP the item god 2 has). Even here, you can see me getting within 250 million. The only sure way I can do that is to keep my eye out for a setup with an "ATK+250%" effect or better. The combo alone is adding about 40% more damage (either 31/80 or 31/75, not sure which). ATK+250% versus ATK+150% only adds, due to a bug with magic, 25% more damage. Get a fair-sized combo and I might be able to push past 8.6 billion. I'll either get 4.3 billion like expected, 8.6 billion from the 4.3 billion bug being added, or, perhaps, an 11-figure damage popup from an additional 4.3 billion being added. There's only one way to find out.

Nodera Ice Shelf is now 100% done, aside from bug fixes and oversights I may have forgotten about. The foreground is dominated by freezing cold water and a gigantic ice burg floating in it. This close ice burg is brighter, has better 3D effects, and has the top part with a more varied height. The part underwater even has fog as well. When you get above the top of that ice burg, another 3D effect comes in with the front that I forgot to mention. The far end of the closest ice burg has another 3D effect, far better than what I originally had.
Beyond the closest ice burg are a series of several more ice burgs drifting along with the current of the channel. Unlike before, there are several of these and randomly spaced.
Nodera Ice Shelf gets its name from the next more distant part - the ice shelf itself. Unlike before where it was flat with the same Z distance all the way through, here, it's varied. With the variable Z distance and texture, I needed to come up with a way to provide for a varying Z height without using excessive draws. The end result came out a bit better than I was expecting.
The most distant objects are the Sentus Mountains. Nodera Ice Shelf takes place at a point just north of the northernmost part of the Sentus Mountains. The scene here is looking due south so the Sentus Mountains are visible although 8 Kbl (7.28 miles, 11.72 kilometers) distant.
The water in this world is dangerous because it's freezing cold. While you can touch it without problems... at first, it'll soon start sapping HP away with prolonged exposure. The limit is 5 seconds and it takes a while to recover.
By "15 or 16 digits", I meant "15 extra digits" - technically 9 2/9 quintillion CU, a height you'll otherwise never reach.

I've used YouTube for 4 3/4 years now and one thing I've consistently noticed is that bugs take excessively long to fix. Not just days or even a few weeks, but months, even years before they get fixed. This video shows some examples of bugs, mostly recent ones, but also old ones (and old, still active ones such as one I've known about for 8+ months now that still hasn't been fixed). Yet, while recording this video, attempting to show how the character count glitch works, I found another one, of which I reported. One bug report I left out (since it only occurs about 3% of the time) is when posting a comment - you'll randomly get "error, try again" even though there are no problems with the message and the message actually sends... several times.
However, not only are bug reports being covered in this video, but feature suggestions as well. One feature suggestion I forgot about is the video comment character count limit. I was thinking that all qualified, good-standing accounts (those with access to making videos longer than 15 minutes) should have a 2000-character limit and able to post links to external sites whereas new and/or questionable accounts use the usual 500 and unable to post links to anything but YouTube videos.
