Thankfully, in my country, cash transactions aren't frowned upon much but rather just discouraged (Although Sterling pounds aren't seen as legal tender outside Scotland, which is ridiculous). Admittedly, I don't know an awful lot about American banking systems. However, I do believe each country should be able to follow their own economic system. Right now, Wales, Scotland and a large portion of England are being crippled by subsidies from Westminster that serve only London. This isn't the reason I turned to Communism (actually nowadays It's more of a diluted form), but it does convince me to support independence. Sorry for waffling, but it's an important subject. Also, sorry for the late reply. Hope this helps.

What are your thoughts on banking, central banking, fiat currency, gold standard, and bimetalism. or electronic currency - currency contained within the control of the banking system vs. currency you can possess and transact in (cash and coins) without an oppressive power monitoring your behavior to figure out how to control you? Those on your radar at all? I think those are incredibly important to people having power over their lives, but its very hard to understand it or even accept it on a practical day to day basis.

What about conspiracy theories? for example, I find it very interesting that cash transactions are becoming demonized (eg. you don't want your transactions tracked? what are you trying to hide? criminal activity?), especially given the fact that containing currency within control of banks at all time serves to make banks and governments more powerful at the expense of freedom for average people.

Sounds a bit like you're looking into Stalinism or any form of current form of "Communism", as opposed to Leninism or Trotskyism (either one of the latter is acceptable in my book).Granted, Leininism didn't have enough time to get off the ground, but it meant abolishing the class system and granting more power to the working class at a time when they had little to no say, which is still true now, unlike the others, which use Communism as an excuse to control the working class even more.. It's understandable to be wary of having the pic in your homepage, though.

I'd feel like a hypocrite to have the Lenin portrait on my homepage. I'm hopping mad about what is going on the supposedly capitalist world, but moving toward Lenin's ideas (admittedly I know very little about it) to me is out of the frying pan into the fire.

Capitalism does not irk me. Why should the reverse do the same to you? It's just difference of opinion.
