About this user
Hi my name is Joey. I am into music, filmmaking... oh, and I play piano! (Duh!)
*A short story on how I make my films*
*******************************************
Listen, I don't DO scripts in my films, I just sorta play it by ear, that's how my films can become so immense or so goofy all of a sudden. I guess it adds a bit of personality into a film, not just drilling it out based on a script.
Sometimes I plan on doing a sort of serious film (take Lego Agents 2.0 Ep. 2 for example) and find many parts along the way that could use a good joke just to remind you it's a animation of children's toy. Also, take Lego Agents 2.0 Ep. 1. It started out with some jokes and goofiness, but ended with the lead up to a big revelation ("Chase: I can't just let my Agents die, not like I did 5 years ago...").
When I send the script to voice actors, I don't give the whole script (like I said before, I don't do scripts) as not to ruin it for them, I just give them THEIR lines unless specifically requested. I also don't send lines until their scene is finished being filmed (that's why I send parts of the film for them to record, and then other parts later).
To my knowledge, I've only ever fully scripted one film (Lego Agents Mission 5) and I didn't really like it, because it already tells you exactly what to do. Not scripting also allows me to make last minute changes without having to worry because the script has already been sent out to the voice actors. Basically I do what feels right at the time, and it allows me to feel fully satisfied with what I have done, not having the "Aw, I should've had him say THAT, not THIS!!" feeling.
In conclusion, that's what makes my films unique and I don't plan on changing it any time soon.
