About Me:
Paolo Nutini -- so much talent in someone so young. He's an "old" soul and one of the more versatile young singers of our time.
PHIL CAMPBELL: has a digital album released last spring. His previous album is "Daddy's Table." and another CD just released. The albums deserve a listen, as do his earlier albums, "After the Garden, "Joy", and "A Fresh New Life" if you have not heard them. It's all good. He's on You Tube; check him out. Heavy North American influence (Neil Young, Dylan). If you like, pass it along; it's all about word of mouth. Since I posted this, Campbell has put out another album and some EPs.

Jeff Buckley:
"Another phenomenally high passage is in the jazz scat in " The Way Young Lovers Do" on Live at Sin-é. He actually gets into the super-register, normally reserved for trumpets!"
The best part of his 1995 performance at the Metro in Chicaco was the unusual verse included in his closing signature cover of Leonard Cohen's, Hallelujah, but it is always taken down. The entire performance is on DVD and worth the purchase. Hallelujah contains Buckey's raw adult version of the extra verse. It's the only version I've seen to include the additional verse. With a 4 octave range, he makes many top lists. He's also been named as one of the top 3 voices, along with his father. During this performance there was also an "exchange" from Buckley when a fan repeatededly called out his father's name.
Mic Christopher. Another career cut short far too soon. He defininately is in my top 6 as a lyricist, and with an incredible voice as is evident in so many of the times he also played with Glen Hansard. What a beautiful voice; what a beautiful song -- Queen of Hearts. RIP Mic.
Damien Rice: of all the talent, I still think Damien Rice is my favorite, both as a performer and as a lyricist. Liam Ó Maonlaí and Glen Hansard are right up there, and depending on the day any one can be #1. It's hard to pick one with more passion and dedication. So, there's three.
Saw the Frames in NYC in November and Glen Hansard is one of the most enthusiastic performers. Notably, he gave credit to Mic Christopher and last encore was "Heyday."
And the Blackchords have a debut album out and you can hear it here.

Thanks to You Tube and those who contribute. Without it I would miss seeing Mic Christopher and Jeff Buckley perform.
Hometown:
New York
Country:
United States
Occupation:
Paraprofessional.
Interests:
Music and film. And more music.
Movies:
I LOVE film. Will see most anything. Favorites: Godfather I and II, so I'm a fan of Francis Coppola; John Sayles' films because he uses Chris Cooper; Woody Allen, especially in his younger "angst" years. I love old fims -- Bette Davis in "The Little Foxes." Burt Lancaster in "Elmer Gantry." And foreign films such as "Camille Claudel,: "The Story of Adele H", "Blue", "Farinelli", and a fondness for Chinese film: "Farewell My Concubine", "To Live."
Music:
Everything you see here and more. Much more. Everything from the "Grateful Dead" to "Mozart." with lots in between. So much music, so little time.
Books:
To Kill a Mockingbird (anything worth reading is worth reading a second time). In Cold Blood.
