For the 9mm vs. .45 debate, yes the .45 has more stopping power but if you can aim, it doesn't matter whether you're using a .22 or a .50AE, you're going to kill what you're trying to kill. In home defense, stopping power is good for sure, but really a 9mm with good defense rounds will be plenty....

@spongyjakester teeth=built in saw. you can either cover them (electrical tape/paracord/etc) on the handle, grind them off, or just man up and deal with it. Having a real saw built in to the knife is a huge bonus in a survival situation.

The spike itself would most likely be way too heavy to use for a ballistic spike. Unless you either cut some of the metal out of it and/or put in a bigger spring, I wouldn't grind off the lug. Plus legal issues ;)
