Hello World,And "What a Wonderful world" it is. By the way, this is the title of my favorite song by Louis Armstrong. Listening to that song, I can close my eyes and picture the sights he describes, and hear the sounds he mentions. Makes me feel wonderful.
Another song that I like quite a bit is: "Imagine," by John Lennon. However, I must admit that I am guilty of not espousing one of the ideas expressed in that song, namely "imagine no country." I can not imagine not having a Haîti so that I can proudly say: "I am Haîtian." I can see his point though; love of country have caused many wars in the past. You all can rest assured that I won't be starting any wars.
As you can guess from the last paragraph, I am from the, once more beautiful, republic of Haîti. My dream is to see Haîti regain its former status of "The pearl of the Antilles" and become a contributing partner to the world community.
I am presently living in concord, New Hampsire, but I aspire to one day soon return to my homeland. I remember this song by a fellow Haitian, whose name escapes me, that goes like this: Haîti mwin rinmin w pou tout la vie ... se nan bra w pou mwin mouri. [ Haiti I love you for life ... I will die in your arms.] I get emotional when I listen to that song.
If you visit: bobpoisson.com you can listen to the songs mentioned above and some of my other favorites. You can also view some of my photographs and express yourself in my blog and forum. It will be my pleasure to have you as a guest.
I love to travel and I am always taking the challenge of a new language. Therefore, whatever country you are from, I hope you will drop by and drop me a note.
Peace,
Bob.
