Raye Dawn Smith was sentenced to 27 years in Jail for enabling child abuse and because the D.A made the statement that 'She should have known' of the abuse of her two and half year old daughter Kelsey Shelton Smith Briggs. Not that she knew anything but 'should have'. Raye did not know her baby was being abused. She fought for Kelsey from the beggining. When Kelsey was taken out of her care she did all she could to get her back, complying to everything asked of her.
Raye was deeply concerned about Kelsey, when Kelsey was in the care of the Briggs she deteoriarated rapidly, she went from a bouncing two year to one that began self mutilating, she also lost some hair.
Kelsey was eventually returned to her mother, when Raye got her back she continued to do all she could for Kelsey. In a period of 2 months Raye took Kelsey to the doctor 8 TIMES. She was concerned about Kelsey, she was trying to find a cause for her problems. Having been with the the Briggs for the 5 months Kelsey had developed seperation anxiety when not with Raye.
After the family were in a car accident Kelsey began refusing food, again Raye was deeply concerned and worried over this. Raye suggested Play therapy for Kelsey, she WANTED to know what was wrong with Kelsey.
On the 11th of October 2005 Raye went to collect her step daughter from school. She left a sleeping Kelsey in the care of her stepfather Michael Porter, when she arrived home an ambulance was already at her house. Kelsey was pronounced dead later at the hospital after attempts to revive her failed. She had died from a blunt force trauma to her abdomen, a second autopsy also showed she had been sexaully asualted.
Michael Porter was immediatley charged with Murder. This charge was later dropped after he was offered a plea deal from the Briggs. Both Michael Porter and Raye were then charged with enabling abuse. No one has been convicted of Kelsey's murder, this is NOT JUSTICE FOR KELSEY, a guilty man will be out in 30 years, and an innocent mother sits behind bars waiting on an appeal.
Raye loved Kelsey with all her heart, more than anything in the World. My video's contain facts, backed up by official documents.
