Layla Moran (born 12 September 1982 in Hammersmith, London) is a teacher and British politician. She is the Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate for Battersea.

Layla is the daughter of James Moran, Director for Asia within the European Commission and Randa Moran. She spent her childhood growing up in the UK, Belgium, Greece, Ethiopia, Jamaica and Jordan.

Layla graduated from Imperial College with a Bachelor of Science in Physics in 2003. Following this she obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Brunel University in 2005 and a Masters of Arts in Comparative Education from the Institute of Education, a school of the University of London in 2008. Her Master's thesis contemplated the spread of the International Baccalaureate in Western Developed Nations. She has taught mathematics and science since 2003. First at the International School of Brussels (2003-2007) and Southbank International School (2008-present). Layla lives near Clapham Junction in the Battersea UK Parliamentary Constituency.

Layla joined the Liberal Democrats because of her passions concerning inequality and acceptance of diversity. Her particular areas of interest lie with modern education policy and its link to inequality.
