I was there too. Tom Donahue and his crew from KSAN did the MCing for day 1, and I and my crew from KMPX MCed the second day. All the Frisco bands played beautifully. It was great weekend of music. The Hell's Angels provided backstage security and a truckload of beer; it was nothing like Altamo...

Elegant in its simplicity. If you want to find your way around an Open G tuning, this is a good starting point. I got to learn this from Jorma at "guitar camp" at the Fur Peace ranch, along with Embryonic Journey.

Bass players would also do well to study Jack Casady's bass lines.

I too have DeArmond Starfire; just the DeArmond pickups. At 32", it's sort of between the 30" short scale and 34" regular long scale. Using a Peavey MAX 126 practice amp.

What FX pedal do you use to get that Jaco sustain sound?
