Growing up in a small Texas town, music was always a passion for Laura-Tab. Discovering piano at the age of 3, she continued to discover other genres of music, and began playing percussion at age 11, carrying on through high school, playing snare and bass in the band's drumline. .During that time, Laura was also a member of a 5 piece rock band, playing congas, bongos, and steel drums for 4 and a half years. She was brought up listening to much of her parent's music and immediately fell in love with hearing such artists as Motown classics like Diana Ross and The Supremes, the Jackson 5, the 60's and 70's era of bands like Mama's and the Papa's, Led Zeppelin, and Janis Joplin, leading up to the 90's rock movement of bands, including Nirvana, Blind Melon, and Sublime. By listening to such an eclectic mix of music, Laura-Tab has grown up learning to appreciate the true colors of rock and roll, soul, and funk. In 2005 came a smart move to Hollywood, California to attend Musician's Institute, in hopes of gaining more information about the music business, and life in general. Graduating in 2006 with a certificate in Recording, and starting from a fresh level in solo performance, she strives everyday to meet new people and focuses on making new, cutting-edge music for the next generation to absorb. Music is Laura-Tab's life, and she thrives on making people smile.
