Hello there everybody!

My name is Laura Mam and I love to write music and experience what they call the good times all the time. I have been playing self-taught guitar for 10 years now and love music. As for a little information about myself, I am a Cambodian American and like most other Cambodians, my family members are refugees from the Cambodian genocide. Although I was born here after, that single event has affected all of my life, especially my perspectives on this hilarious human condition of ours. I graduated with honors in Anthropology emphasizing my studies on Cambodia at the University of California, Berkeley. During college, I started this youtube channel by doing some originals and covers in English, Khmer, and French.

Because of all of you and all of your support, I have fallen completely in love with music and with all of you who love it as much as I do. After graduating, I got a job at an International Conservancy called GHF and joined The Like Me's, a band that I can now call the love of my life. I have now officially conjoined LauraMamMusic with The Like Me's and am so happy to bring you the music of four Southeast Asian American women who have nothing but passion and love for our peoples and our music.

The Like Me's are a R&B/Alternative/Pop band which formed in March of 2009. Bonded by simultaneous heartbreaks and empowered by the love of music, members Loren Alonzo, Helena Hong, Monique Coquilla and me (Laura Mam) found solace in making music and performing. Our inspiration is founded on the ideals of music and art as a means to heal and empower all while discovering yourself. Though the ideology hasn't changed, the band has matured in the first year having worked with different bassists to help nurture their current sound. They include Ben Everett (Case In Theory) and Raymond Bernal (Fakepublic). The Like Me creed still stands as, "Healing through Expression, Interpreting Adversity, and Celebrating Adventure."
