process, perfectly balanced as every one of us being
teacher to and student of every other, simultaneously. To
consider oneself as more one aspect of the process than the
other is an illusion, and limits our collective experience.--Strike a Chord of Silence
blessings and peace to you and all you hold dear, my friend,

You are absolutely right, though, that "hispanic" or "latino" is not a race. Among my Mexican friends some are white, some are Native American, and some are mixed. There are also some Mexicans of Asian or African decent. And that's basically the way it is in all the Spanish speaking countries of America.
Let's face it, whether here in the US, or Mexico, or Colombia, or Argentina....we are all basically a melting pot. We are a lot of different cultures, ethnicities and races coming together due to colonialism and immigration. The mixtures might be somewhat different in different places, but that basic pattern is present in all our countries of the Americas.
Some characteristics of Race are defined as a large and distinct populations or groups often based on factors such as appearance based on heritable phenotypical characteristics or geographic ancestry, but also often influenced by and correlated with traits such as culture and ethnicity.
hahahahaha then a russian who speak spanish italian is latin or hispanic? ahahahahahah
dude hispanic-> spain portugal
latino-> all countries that formerly belong to Roman Empire developed a language coming from latin. like romania molavia france spain italy portugal.
some southamericans are meztizos, but usually they have the indian blood more than european, it stupid then to call them latino or hispano, there is no conection.
