Mariah is not a BIG touring artist like Madonna or Celine Dion but she's always had successful tours with pretty expensive ticket prices. Mariah has only done about 180 shows because touring is extremely strenuous and harmful to her voice. Her voice is her most precious gift so she must preserve it. Plus she is a songwriter so she doesnt have to rely on concerts to make money, singers who write their music get alot of the royalties.
*The tickets for her 3 Tokyo Dome concerts in 1996, totaling at over 150,000 seats, sold out in under 3 hours, making it the fastest selling show in the Tokyo Dome's history until she broke her own record in 1998 selling out all 200,000 tickets in under one hour. The show at Hawaii's 50,000 capacity Aloha Stadium sold out as well, making her one of the few acts in the stadiums history to sell out the entire venue.
