Lambda Community Center is a resource center for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Two-Spirit, Same-Gender-Loving, Questioning and heterosexual Ally community in northern Colorado, through support, education, outreach, advocacy and collaboration.Part of the vision behind the new website is that we to create a vibrant virtual community space for those who either due to restraint of time or location can't always make it into the "brick and mortar" space of the center. We each have a unique point of view and life story to share so with that vision the new website incorporates some exciting new ways for us to share together online.
The Blog is available as a space for the community to share your art, opinions, citizen reporting, and life experiences with one another. It is intentionally about you — and by you. The blog is open for poems, news articles, memoires, anything within the written media. We also welcome event submissions, job postings, discussion topics, etc. so that we can facilitate dialogue and connections that can help our community grow.
Perhaps your medium is in spoken word or visual arts. Lambda Community Center has created a YouTube channel as shared space for people to upload video shorts, vlogs, movies, news stories, instructional videos, etc. Maybe you want to share your transition with your community or want to teach us how to build a bird house...this space is for us to share together.
Social graces would tell us that we ought talk of "sex, religion or politics" however LCC believes that community is best represented when we embrace the fullness of our persons. We are sexual, spiritual and social-minded beings so we encourage submissions on all topics.
A word of caution, LCC is an organization that serves a wide-range of ages, races, ethnicities, faiths, etc. so our media editor will not post submissions that are deemed to create an unsafe virtual space and/or do not allow for all individual to feel welcomed.
• Sexually explicit/pornographic submissions will not be accepted. Submissions that celebrate and/or educate about love, relationships, sex-positivity and sexuality will be considered;
• As a 501(c)3 LCC is not able to endorse or engage in candidate politics and community member posting to the blog does not represent LCC's endorsement or point-of-view on any given issue/candidate.
Disclaimer: LCC staff and board will post or respond to other posts upon occasion and will only identify themselves as representatives when they are acting in an official capacity for the organization. Personal postings are their own and do not represent an official statement by the organization.
