About this user
Not until the band Lakeside, has the city of Columbus, Georgia, experienced a band that encompasses so much raw talent and vigor. Lakeside, originally formed in 2001 during high school, never expected this much attention at such an early age.
The band is headed up by lead singer and bassist, Cale Dodds, who puts a creative spin on his lyrics that speak of every day frustrations and satisfactions. With his lyrics it's understandable for anyone to relate to Lakeside and the messages they convey. Cale started the band with his brother Chase who picked up his first set of drum sticks at age 9. Since then it's safe to say that he has not missed a beat by winning awards and recognitions for his work.
Andrew Medley, who met up with Cale and Chase while playing roller hockey, picked up the guitar when he was 12 and provides the rhythm to help tie the sounds together. Lakeside, who is always looking to improve their sound and feel of the band, still felt like the band was incomplete. Cale, Chase, and Andrew understood that they had to find a lead guitarist to help solidify their sound. They knew exactly the musician to approach. Clint Poe, who is not only a friend but is well respected throughout the Columbus music scene for his southern rock style was just the person. His lead guitar and solos leave the listener amazed by the fact that this individual is right out of high school.
Already seasoned at their young age, Lakeside has accomplished goals that many young bands only dream of. In 2004, they played the Atlanta stop of the Van's Warped Tour on the Volcom Stage. A year later, Lakeside was approached by Drive-Thru Records and PureVolume.com to place their infectious track "Note to Self" on their 2005 compilation CD "Bands You Love, Heard of, and Should Know of." October 7th, 2006 they will be plying their second showcase for the Atlantis Music Conference at the Masquerade. With the help of Smartpunk.com and selling at shows, Lakeside has excelled in selling their 3rd CD "Rumor Has It". They currently have enough new material for a 4th release and hope to have it recorded soon.
With every performance Lakeside matures increasingly not only personally but professionally. They see their fans as friends which makes everyone fall even more in love with the band. Lakeside not only captures the hearts of newly dedicated friends but they capture the hearts of their old friends at every performance. When Lakeside takes the stage the four members exude their passion for performing and playing their own original music.
