I find that there isn't much information out there for those who are in relationships with individuals who are affected by schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. There seems to be some help for parents who are carers, but relatively nothing for those involved in romantic relationships. It's hard for spouses and partners because it's difficult to know if you're doing the right thing or if your feelings of love and attachment are reciprocated. I wholeheartedly love someone who is affected. The illness doesn't change that. But I search the net for some means of understanding, because sometimes it's lonely when I feel the other person pulling away. I hope that those who are partners or affected can help shed light on what it's like to be in a relationship that is touched by schizophrenia.
