About this user
LYNC, an acronym for Living Your Name Christ, is a male sextet that puts a fresh, funky twist to the sound of traditional gospel acappella singing. Using nothing but their voices as the instruments, on top of having the ability to reproduce various styles of music such as jazz, hip-hop and reggae, LYNC definitely has the potential to take acappella music to new heights. Over the past few years different members have come and gone. The current line-up, which is comprised of Derique Smith, Shawn "S-Lee" Spencer, Andre Haughton, Joseph London, Sean Barrow, and C.J "Killa Beatz" Mairs II, has been together early 2008. Some of LYNC's accomplishments include being the winners of the 2007 Maja Awards, which was hosted by Dr. Bobby Jones of BET, performing at the 10th Anniversary Martin Luther King Concert, and releasing their very first single, Not Afraid, which is available NOW on iTunes! Don't sleep on this! But aside from the big bass, the sky high tenors, and the inhuman beatboxing, LYNC, as ministers of Christ have a goal; to spread Gospel. However, LYNC is not just a catchy acronym. These young black men strive to live the name of Christ on a daily basis and to be an influence to other young men, and women too, who are going through different struggles in life and to let them know that they can turn to God for anything, any time, any place. God has a lot in store for this special group. Look out for these guys and watch how He will continue to use them...
