About this user

I am a Russian Jew who escaped the Nazis.Born March 1,1930 in Frankfurt am Main,Germany.I lived next door to my cousins Cody and Patrick for 3 years.When Hitler came to power we were worried since we were Jewish.So we fled to Vienna,Austria September 3,1933.There we stayed and had fun with relatives in Saltzburg.When Hitler invaded Austria we fled again to Russia,mom's homeland.We moved to Leningrad where we finally felt safe.Even when the war started we felt ok since we had an agreement with Germany.That changed when Hitler invaded Russia in the summer of 1941.we fled from Leningrad August 26,1941.Less than a week before the seige.We moved to Moscow on September 1,1941.We stayed there until November 23,1941 when the nazis were 48km away.So we fled again,moving to Murmansk on December 1,1941.Luckily the fighting there had ceased for the past 6 months.As time passed we still didn't feel safe.Mom was worried what was going to happen to us.By My 12th birthday she coldn't take it anymore.So we snuck pass border patrols and got into Finland.We got to Viipuri March 10,1942.There mom got to an old friend,Fredrik Frosen.Fredrik means protector and that fitted him well.He was in a resistance group which got Finnish-Jew youths to Sweeden.He was going to do that for us.He brought goods from here to Germany.On the way he stops in Sweeden to save Jews and pick up more goods.He was going to do that with us.We got to Stockholm,Sweeden March 24,1942.I stayed there with my brother until the war ended.Mom went to Stalingrad and later Nome,Alaska where she stayed with relatives.Dad sadly died in Neugamme in Germany on August 30,1944.Mom came back June 26,1945.Years later she remarried and we moved to Newfoundland.Today i am a great grandfather,my mom,died of old age in 1995.Just a year after my great grandchildren were born.
