About this user
Laura Michelle was born in San Francisco, California, to two radio talk show host parents, Ronn Owens and Jan Black. Her first passion, animals, has led to an illustrous career as a competitive horseback rider on the "A" circuit. She enjoys the success that comes with hard work and dedication. Her parents, both avid music fans, raised her on top music of both the past and present. Her love for country music developed from when she was a young girl. "I remember getting goosebumps seeing Rascal Flatts perform 'Bless the Broken Road'. After that, I knew a career in country music was my destiny." After she graduated high school, she was able to focus more on singing and songwriting. Earning her Bachelors Degree in Business through Penn State online has allowed her to focus on making this a career. "Listening to the lyrics from country songs is like hearing the words of a wise friend...one you know you can trust. I know that country music has gotten me through the best and worst days in my life. If one dream doesn't work out -- whether competitively, in a relationship, or in any aspect of life, another will take its place. I hope I can be that voice of wisdom to other people."
