About Laboratory of Ethnomusicology, Anthropology and Audiovisual
LEAA (Laboratory of Ethnomusicology, Anthropology and Audiovisual) is an organization which works in researching and producing materials related to popular culture and traditional music from the Recôncavo area of Bahia, Brazil. Our work focuses developing applied ethnomusicology through community education. In our courses, we aim to training local researchers, to documenting and forming audiovisual databases and to developing multimedia and audiovisual techniques. As part of the Research Association in Popular Culture and Traditional Music from the Recôncavo, we also offer support and consulting in communication and projects for traditional art groups. Since 2004, the Radio Art group has been part of the Laboratory.
