DYNASTY II: THE COLBYS

The 1985 "Dynasty" spin-off prime time soap opera starring Charlton Heston, Barbara Stanwyck, Ricardo Montalban and Stephanie Beacham. The series revolved around the luxe lives of "Dynasty" characters Jeff and Fallon Colby who moved to Los Angeles and joined an entire Colbys clan the audiences had previously not been aware of. The series which was originally designed to be bigger and grander than "Dynasty" lasted only two seasons as its ratings fizzled out in the ultra-difficult Thursday at 9:00pm timeslot on the ABC TV network and ended in the spring of 1987 with the infamous UFO cliffhanger.

SINS (Mini-Series, 1986)

Joan Collins and her then-fiance Peter Holm executive produced this 7-hour CBS drama which originally aired in three parts Sunday-Tuesday, February 2-4, 1986.

The mini-series based upon Judith Gould's bestselling novel was largely filmed in Europe in the spring of 1985 while "Dynasty" was on hiatus following the infamous Moldavian massacre.

Set in the sophisticated world of fashion publishing, this is a tale of Helen Junot (Collins) and her quest for money and power in an attempt to avenge the destruction of her family during the Nazi occupation of France.

TILL WE MEET AGAIN (Mini-Series)

Corteney Cox, Hugh Grant, Bruce Boxleitner, Michael York, Lucy Gutteridge, Barry Bostwick, Mia Sara, Maxwell Caulfield and Juliet Mills star in the 1989 adaptation of Judith Krantz's ("I'll Take Manhattan") novel "Till We Meet Again."

This is the full 6-hour version of the mini-series which was originally presented in the US heavily edited as a 2-part 5-hour series (on Sunday and Tuesday, November 19 and 21, 1989) on the CBS TV network.

RETURN TO EDEN (Mini-Series)

One of Australia's most successful mini-series, "Return to Eden" pulled in about 300 million viewers across the world. The mini-series originally ran on Network Ten, September 27-29, 1983 (Tuesday-Thursday), in three 2-hour installments.

The mini-series was filmed on a $3 million budget and directed by American Karen Arthur. James Reyne who plays villain Greg Marsden is a rock musician and was a member of the iconic 1980s band Australian Crawl.

I'LL TAKE MANHATTAN (Mini-Series)

Valerie Bertinelli, Barry Bostwick, Perry King, Timothy Daly, Francesca Annis, Juliane Moore, Jack Scalia and Jane Cazmarek star in Juditz Krantz's tale of love and betrayal set in the high-stakes world of magazine publishing.

The mini-series aired on CBS March 1-4, 1987 and generated an average audience of 20 million households, eclipsing the ratings of respective seasons of hit soaps "Dynasty" (16 mil) and "Dallas" (18 mil).
