WHY are regular people still defending Republicans??? Republicans only serve industry. They don't serve you. That's where it starts. The economic crisis so CLEARLY began under George Bush. Here's but one reason why: Companies exist to make money. They operate within a legal framework. They play the game by the rules they are allowed (generally, and generally without a political bent). Behind the scenes corporate-sponsored Republican ''de-regulation'' gave them a slanted playing field. Corporations are made up of people, but the organization is not a citizen of the nation it operates in. As an organization (pretty abstract), it doesn't have an obligation to be a ''good citizen.'' Corporations operate without borders (Peppermint Patties), without regard to the rights of the consumers (peanuts) who use their products and ABSOLUTELY (Exxon) cannot be trusted to do right by people (WalMart) because they are machines. Corporations do NOT have a conscience. If allowed to operate in a predatory way (banks, credit cards & mortgage lenders who do the wink wink at you) within their legal limits, that is EXACTLY what they will do. Why not? Their bottom line demands it and justifies it. After all, they have a fiduciary responsibility to maximize value for their shareholders. Well, more often than not, the majority shareholders are on the Board of Directors. They have something to gain personally by fucking you any way they can. They'll use cheaper labor if, after crunching some numbers they determine they can take manufacturing off-site (out of the country) or by hiring illegal workers (until such time as it becomes cost-effective to take operations out of the country). It's called cost-benefit ratio and analysis. Sell the product at the same price, but pay the H1B worker less than half of what an American worker would be paid; that way, you can pocket the difference and then use the money to further consolidate your wealth; i.e. buy off Republican politicians who will continue to do you favors or put it into a fund that will allow you to close domestic operations by building new facilities where there are no unions and people work for cheap.
Republicans are NOT looking out for you, no matter HOW MUCH O'Reilly says that they are. Do some casual reading/informal study in political science & economics, and you'll see... Just do some studying. If you don't have time (or money) for college courses and want more info, I can help. Not ''liberal propaganda'' or leaflet-style info typed up by some no-name. I will provide you with ACTUAL scholarly research, fully supported by facts, history and equation (economy, sociology, psychology, theology if you're keen on Jesus, etc.) ALL OF IT peer reviewed. I have a metric shitload of huge e-books from every dark political corner.
The Republican model for getting votes is all about pushing people's buttons, and the Republican model for governance consists entirely of fucking over the same people who voted for them, blatantly and at every turn in favor of big business. They never do anything about the hot-button issues they use to wedge with, so they can use them again next time. Republicans pit husband against wife, father against son, brother against brother. They are suckering you in the worst possible way, and thanks again to Republicans, Reagan's education reform amounts to an appalling ''dumbing down'' of a whole generation. The 30 and under crowd don't even have enough brains to DEMAND higher standards of living and education for themselves. It's like you don't even know how diminished your intellect is, and what it COULD be. I am tired of fighting FOR you by fighting AGAINST you. You LOVE your Republican assfucking. I just don't get you guys... Why don't you get sick of living in double-wides and apartments? Do you really wanna grind out your whole life in some underpaid dead end job, only getting enough to service your endless debt, then to get old and luckily be put out to pasture with what - ''affordable healthcare?'' Why don't you demand to live in a first world country? We liberals will have your back in a heartbeat.
