I guess that is cool? What are you thoughts, briefly, on the Libyan intervention or war. I am opposed to it.

That is interesting! It sounds like he may be a new Aaron Schock or Adam Kinzinger, two overachievers here in Illinois.

I think I would take that information with a grain of salt. I think that the most important branch of government at the state level in the state assembly or state legislature, and states with Republican legislatures have done far and away better than states with Democratic legislatures. There are some good Democratic governors and some bad ones, just like Republicans, it more has to do with their leadership style. Pragmatic and more conservative governors who are business friendly have the best track records. Great governors that I can think of serving presently are Phil Bredesen (D-Tennessee), Rick Perry (R-Texas), Gary Herbert (R-Utah), Bob McDonnell (R-VA), Chris Christie (R-NJ), Tim Pawlenty (R-MN), Mitch Daniels (R-IN), Linda Lingle (R-HI) and Dave Freudenthal (D-WY). Relatively diverse bunch, but Republicans more conservative Democrats have much better records overall.

I'm not sure what rankings you are talking about, but the editorial endorsement I read in the Oregonian for Gov. Kitzhaber was generally positive of his previous term as governor of Oregon. He has a reputation as a moderate census builder and I think that is good, as I believe the Republicans are still going to be a minority in the Oregon State Legislature.

I wasn't too enthusiastic about Chris Dudley. I'm not too high on people that don't have any government or executive experience. I'm not sure what made him think he qualified to be governor, why not run for a lesser statewide office or the state legislature, or maybe mayor of his hometown, Lake Oswego. If he proves himself there than maybe he could get more support. I think John Kitzhaber will do a good job. He is a pretty level headed Democrat.

Dino Rossi just can't seem to break into King County the way he should. I'd like to see how he did on the Eastside (Seattle's affluent eastern suburbs), his home turf. That area is key to winning state-wide in Washington, Slade Gorton was able to do it twice, and Rob McKenna has also done it twice. It looks like Republicans will pick up some state legislative seats in the Seattle suburbs, but not enough to take control.
