Assyrianism was created just over 100 year ago by "William Wigram" the British missionary & spy as a national movement, after paying the Patriarch Mar Shimon & Lady surma (Surma Khanim), £7000 to convert to Assyrianism, the British labeled them Assyrians & promised them a land if they fight alongside them against the Ottoman Empire, and so they did.
After the British got what they want from them and realized that they're not suitable & not educated enough to rule a country, they let them on their own.
