About this user

REX je centar za savremenu umetnost i angažovanu kulturnu praksu. Zajednički cilj REXovih projekata je da se osnaže i ohrabre pojedinci, grupe i inicijative da izraze i realizuju svoje ideje, i da, razvijajući razumevanje za društvene odnose, koriste svoje znanje i veštine na kreativni način.
REX podržava i predstavlja projekte i programe savremene angažovane umetnosti i kulture u sopstvenoj produkciji ali i u saradnji sa srodnim inicijativama, organizujući i ugošćavajući debate, prezentacije, izložbe, koncerte, pozorišne i plesne predstave. Osim za javne programe, REX je otvoren i preko dana za srodne inicijative i organizacije, aktiviste i aktivistkinje koji koriste prostor za pripremu projekata, sastanke, probe i radionice. Naročitu pažnju je posvećena edukativnim programima i programima za mlade.
REX je osnovan 1994. godine na inicijativu Radija B92 sa namerom da postane mesto prezentacije i produkcije savremene lokalne umetničke scene, ali i mesto razmene i učenja.
REX sarađuje sa kolegama štirom Srbije, ali i sa kolegama iz regiona i Evrope. REX je partner Ministarstvu kulture Republike Srbije u projektu Mapiranje i afirmacija projekata i procesa interkulturnog dijaloga. REX je član neformalne regionalne mreže Clubture (Hrvatska) http://www.clubture.org/ i Mreže nezavisnih centara Evrope TEH (http://www.teh.net/). RExov festival filmova SLOBODNA ZONA www.freezonebelgrade.org je član Mreže Festivala filmova o ljudskim pravima, Human Right Film Network http://www.humanrightsfilmnetwork.org/. REX aktivno učestvuje u Evropskom volonterskom servisu EVS razmenjujući volontere sa evropskim kulturnim centrima. http://ec.europa.eu/youth.

Cultural centre REX is a place for contemporary, socially engaged art and analytical cultural practice. Through our programmes, we are trying to research and present borderline fields of culture and social engagement and the fields in which different branches of art overlap. The mutual aim of projects is to educate and empower individuals and groups to articulate and put into the practice their ideas, to develop an understanding of social relations and use their knowledge and skills in a creative way. Special attention is devoted to young authors and audiences.
We support, present and produce contemporary art and cultural projects through open public events, presentation, lectures, dance and theatre performances, exhibition, concerts, workshops, film and music festival, but we are daily open for rehearsals, preparation of projects and meetings of related initiatives and organisations.
REX is founded 1994 by, at that time, independent radio station B92. REX collaborates with colleagues throughout Serbia, as well as with colleagues from region and Europe. REX is a partner of Ministry of Culture in the project Maping and Affirmation of Projects and Process of Intercultural Dialogue www.rex.b92.net/ikd. We are part of regional informal network Clubture www.clubture.org, TEH network of European independent cultural centres www.teh.net. Our film festival FREE ZONE www.freezonebelgrade.org is member of Human Right Film Network http://www.humanrightsfilmnetwork.org/. Also, REX has a very good experience with EVS project as a host organisation http://ec.europa.eu/youth.
