We are Wesley & Colleen Crawford and we are on a journey to learn a new career.

In the process of learning business in a totally new field; I (Colleen) discovered what really holds me back from putting my whole heart into business. My weight.

Since the documentary is about building a coffee house from scratch, and learning the business, then transparency is needed to be able to give a more realistic point of view of being an entrepreneur.

Yes, it would be nice to just believe you sit around a coffee house and drink coffee with your friends and family, and life is grand. But the truth is, there are obstacles and fears to face and overcome.

Here is how we plan to approach our business dream:

Phase 1: Change our lifestyle
We burn our candle at both ends, working on business plans; and we have no real schedule. We eat at fast food places, on the go, and don't excersice. We may go to bed at 6:30 AM or 10 PM. We have a very unhealthy life style and need to change that. I need to lose 100 pounds.

During this phase, we will work on Kudzu Jungle before trying to open the coffee house. We have a lot to do and we are not ready for a coffee house. Plus, we chose not to go into debt, which means our coffee house is a distant business goal that we have to raise capital before we can build.

Wesley is a drummer who is also learning to play guitar. I am an artist who saw art as a burden and instead pursued a career in law enforcement, then in government contracting. Both of which had tragic endings.

The gifts YHWH gave me were left by the wayside; and now, many years later, I am embracing them and probably should have a long time ago. I gave up art, writing and music and wish I could go back in time, but I can't. All I can do now is start from here and change my lifestyle.

Phase 2: Start up coffee house
Once we raise our start up funds, we will set up a temporary coffee house. Anderson County Health Department gave us the requirements we need to meet, and we have our dream property where we want the temp coffee house, but we don't know if it's where we'll be. Time will tell.

Phase 3: Our dream coffee house!!!
We'll use the temp coffee house to operate out of while we build our dream one on the same property. We have, what we believe is, a unique idea that people will love.
