@EduEnYT Nobody died.. At least I have not heard it neither from the media nor from people that know smth about Soviet space program (during informal talks)..
But the risk was very HUGE.. And Gagarin was very licky to survive!!

Man, 1) he is formally the same "Russian" as "Nigerian"
2) he speaks Russian as a native & consideraly better than some other Russian natives ( especially from North Caucasus) as he was born in USSR and lived in Russia until he was 17-18.
