A Word From The Man Behind The Original Music.... Mr. Derek Owusu....
I know I keep going on about it... But I really am excited. When I first started recording with TYANAH it was actually by accident, I had the #SneakiLeaksProject up on soundcloud and she liked what she heard. The first track she recorded was "Slow". And the thing that made the project more interesting was that it wasn't even halfway complete, there were just drums, keyboards and percussion. Plus, the fact that we recorded our parts in different parts of the country. I've never met her, so it's all been done online. You used to have to record in the same place and in some cases at the same time but this is different. Terron Murray heard the track and wanted to remix it. We then collaborated on "When Words Aren't Enough" and Terron worked his magic again with the remix, and in short here we are. We're on the longlist for MTV'S Brand New Unsigned For 2012. I think about it and my brain's gone... I've always wanted to do something like this and my wish is coming true... So please please please please vote for us! Let's make 2012 a big one! Thanks peeps!
A Word From The Woman Behind The Lyrics And The Vocals.... TYANAH....
I'm not great at bearing my soul about the songs I write but here we go... the first thing I think of when I hear the recording of 'When Words Aren't Enough' is damn I need to re-do those vocals! That end bit really bugs me! So much so it's become a joke between me and Del... anyway back to bearing my soul... I heard the original instrumental on Derek's Soundcloud account, it had a sexy Latin feel to it and I loved it immediately! I asked if I could do the vocal for it, he had a title so I worked with that... my own thoughts came into it and I realised that as much as I'd heard the words 'I Love You' I don't think I ever actually believed them, you see the words mean absolutely nothing if you don't show them, feel them and breathe them, so literally 'Words Aren't Enough'... EVER... Feelings are very difficult to put into words, so anything you feel you have to show to make people believe...
It can be the way you look at someone, the smile on your face, the spark when you touch, and the way you feel around them. So in a nutshell that's what I wrote about... but damn I must re-do those vocals!!!! Haha!!
