DId you notice these guys on the original L4D2 map? They were in the tower at the last part. And the Sacrifice tells how they got up there. They even tell you, that they lost a good man to get there.

I agree in a way, that those who camp all day are really annoying, especially in cod, where the maps are small and you can reach your destination only on 3 routes tops...

In BF however the maps are huge, so like it or not, they have a use, even in a team. It's fun, when you ask for ...
