Took about 3 hours to animate and 2 hours to painfully post-process in Sony Vegas during a livestream. Experimenting with frame-by-frame animation!
The song is: Parov Stelar - Catgroove And the one snippet in the beginning is from: Jean Jacques Perrey - The Little Ships

Presenting Strive Like Applejack, the final installment in the Mane Cast Trailer series. I started this series as a means of becoming a better videomaker, getting to know the programs I was familiar with and learning new tricks along the way. This journey has taken me from lesson to lesson, program to program and along the way I met some of the most fantastic and helpful people ever.
Strive may be the last installment, but it represents a lot of firsts, being a transitional piece in many aspects. It's my first proper foray into the magical land of After Effects, though I've only scratched the surface of its potential. It's now a permanent part of my workflow. It's my first time creating custom assets reminiscent of the show: trees, fore and background elements and animating them. The first time directing these short, custom segments. The first time using lossless AVI for editing purposes, which makes the video look fantastic and turning the footage into motion graphics a lot easier. It's the first time I've used two different songs in a video.
And there's probably even more. It's I feel the biggest leap I've made so far, certainly the most experimental and I've learned much about the technicalities of video editing, file formats and codecs, the workflows of many programs and the rules of filmmaking itself.
Overall Strive is a departure from the other videos in this series. This is partially thanks to the music, which has a much less electronic feel and pace to it, but also due to the fact that the visual identity of this was in development until very late in the project, as I experimented throughout.
Ultimately I would describe this video as "Sergio Leone scratched", "a Spaghetti western remixed", "AJ the modern cowgirl".
I'm not sure what's next, it could be Pink or Rainbows or Classical or something I haven't thought of yet, what I do know that it's going to be great. This is the end of an era and the start of a new one :) --

Finally, I present to you the video I've been working on for the past few months. Yes, some was procrastination, some was Vegas being a prick. But here it is, safely in the dispensary of the Youtube community. Have fun, and enjoy.
In this fabulous adventure, a once madness-ridden landscape of every common Team Fortress 2 server turns into a young little gamer's nightmare. Upon accidentally opening a portal to another dimension and video game engines, it's up to the one and only unique Engineer to fix what he has started. A dastardly little demon rounds up all of his friends and turn against him, so that the Moon will not delay in destroying mankind as we know it. Will the Engineer vanquish all evil and return the land to back the way it came, or will he fail unwillingly from the overpowering menaces that plague the atmosphere? It's up to YOU..................to find out.
HI, EXTRA NOTES: - I started this in November, just finished today. Ain't that neat. - Honestly I must say that Garry's Mod videos are becoming increasingly boring to make, so you may not see a lot more in the future. Maybe short little ones. Definitely I think this is my last 10+ minute Gmod video. - First film to feature my little brother! Give him props, brah. - All those amateur animations? Done by me. And those little sketches at the end, that you can barely see since Vegas won't let me do crisp HD renders anymore.
All in all, I like to thank all my fans who stuck around and waited for me on this film. Thanks ya'll, I'll be back soon enough.
P.S. A word to the tards: I'm not dead yet, so keep your pants on. P. S. S. Rubberfruit was originally in the "beta" version of the intro, which involved him and I in a 3 second steam chat, but it was cut out due to a better idea as you could see.
