Sadly the world of radio is obsessed by vocals. DJ’s refused to be quiet and talk relentless up to and after the lyrics on songs. For this reason they NEVER play instrumentals as they think “No words, no point”.. THIS piece needs NO words… The instruments and the tune SHOUT…I listened to this the...

Long before Chariots of Fire this is the sort of thing Vangelis was turning out...and it FANTASIC. When this came out music meant The Bay City Rollers, Sweet, Abba. This is music as ART. If you listened to it and yet didn’t LISTEN try again. Take in the structure, the layers, and the craftsmanshi...

Italian Song Jon & Vangelis

This song is very dear to me. Sad and sweet I have already decided this will be played at my funeral (No I'm not ill, just a wish). Actually the words don't mean a thing. Jon Anderson just created sounds that sounded sort of Italian, but the fact the words are meaningless makes it perfect. For me...

I was amazed when I heard PCO were touring. Since Simon Jeffes had died I assumed the Orchestra died with him. But this is PCO back with his son Auther at the rostrum. I caught them in Northampton earlier this year and bought this album at the show. He isn't living off his Fathers name, he's pick...

Penguin Cafe Orchestra - Perpetuum Mobile
I know bendingsyllables has already posted this BBC clip of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra from 1989 but he left out an important part (for me anyway)....

Nice to know his son (Auther Jeffes) has restarted the group (PCO) and is playing this and other PCO tunes as well as his own compositions. As good and true as you can get PCO isn't just being used as a name, PCO is BACK..Check them out and enjoy just as I did earlier this year.

I saw Auther Jaffes' PCO in concert this year and bought the album straight off. If anyone can lift the batton and carry on the PCO name his son surely can. Don't miss them if you get chance as it's not so much PCO reinventad, as PCO taking up where it left off.. JUST BRILLIENT.
@bassmanjoe Well there is personal taste. I do laugh when I hear some of the younger generation ‘panning’ old music as cr*p and siting such as Lady Gaga, tupac (I think I spelled that right) et all as quote “The best music in de world eva”… Genesis in those days didn’t make tunes... they made ART
