Solutions Manifesto -- Break the Chains, and be a Part of the Solution

Manifesto: A public declaration of intentions, opinions, objectives, or motives, often political in nature.

Recently, I heard a host of a nationally syndicated radio show host talking about "Breaking The Chains". It reminded me of similar comments I had made, urging others to take simple steps to bring the power back to the people. At times it may seem we are fighting a losing battle for our liberties, a free market capitalist economy, and sound money. However, there are several simple steps we can all implement which can collectively have a massive effect to take back our country from the corporations and financial institutions that control our government and economy.

One of the most effective ways we can shift the power from Wall St. to Main St. is by supporting small businesses and independent online sellers when shopping for things like household goods and office supplies. Find a Farmer's Market or an employee-owned supermarket in your area. When dining out, choose Mom & Pop restaurants over the fast food and casual dining chains. Choose a local store over Wal-Mart, the big box retailer which has been the leader in wholesale exportation of American jobs. Let the manufacturers of the products you buy know that you care about where those products are made, and you want them Made in America.

You have a choice when it comes to banking. I can't tell you how many people I've heard complain about their financial institution; only to find out they bank at Bank of America or Chase. The answer is simple: Bank at your local Credit Union. Credit Unions are typically regionally owned or controlled and are for the benefit of its members. This is a far better option than doing business with the large commercial banks with ties to the Federal Reserve. "Credit unions very often beat their banking counterparts in terms of offering lower rates on loans and higher rates on deposits," says Greg McBride, economist for Bankrate.com.

This step is simple: Eliminate your debt and build wealth. Stop paying the banks interest and start adding to your own net worth, not theirs'. There are many get out of debt plans and philosophies out there, so I'm not going to go into detail. But the sooner you free yourself from debt, the sooner you free yourself from financial slavery. Take the money you were paying on debt and buy silver & gold. Accumulate as much as you can while the price is still low, and Keep Stackin'!

Be as self-sufficient as possible. Learn to grow a garden. Plant fruit trees. Start canning, freezing, and dehydrating food. Compost kitchen and yard waste. Cook at home from scratch. Raise livestock. Install a wood burning stove to heat you home. Go solar or use wind power. Build a food and water storage so that you are prepared for any type of disaster or economic collapse. Work close to home, or even better, from home if you can. Get a more fuel efficient vehicle, Carpool, Walk, Run or Ride a bike.... Get off the grid and off the pump!

Those that work in Government and hold Public Office work for the people; from the local City Council all the way up to the Office of the President. Americans have gotten too complacent, and need to hold their representatives accountable. Call their offices. Write. Email. Go to meetings and hearings. Get involved and speak out. Stand up and be heard. No matter what your political affiliation, vote; and vote for a candidate who stands for upholding the constitution, and freedom!
