This anointed singer-songwriter, has seen more than his share of award shows and sold out venues. With a resume, that of a veteran in the industry, he garnished a Gospel Music Association 'Dove' nomination for Country Gospel Album of the Year. He received the Presidents Award for Outstanding Achievement from the International Country Gospel Music Association and took home the win for New Artist of the Year from the Inspirational Country Music Awards, all among his most notable honors. With dynamic vocals and daring lyrics, his fifth album, 'My Story' shares in a way never brought forth by Corey before. A great anointing on his voice and songwriting throughout the album is clearly demonstrated. " I could see God's hand moving in this album almost a year before going into the studio. I could see a billboard, or hear someone tell about a situation and God would spark that idea for a song. As I would read and pray, it was with such clarity that the purpose of the album became real to me." Says Corey." I just want to encourage other believers in Jesus to share their stories and grow deeper with their relationship with Him." As in the past four albums, Corey once again has contributed several self-penned songs. The upbeat song 'Former Things' based on Isaiah 42:9, is a song to remind us that God's word declares that he is proclaiming a new day in each of His childrens lives. 'Hero' quickly catching on as 'Katie's story', is a ballad of a young woman choosing life for her unborn child. As the story progresses you see that very child grow into a young man. This song has been adopted by Resources for Women in Sylacauga, Alabama. The upbeat song 'Drivin', written while he was doing just that, encourages us not to let our voice be silent now that we have been set free. Another fast tempo song, 'Grace' is just a simple reminder of the grace we find daily thru our savior Jesus Christ. 'Wait for Me' is a love song inspiring us to live pure and holy lives that are pleasing to God -- this is our spiritual act of worship (Romans 12:1). 'Happy Birthday in Heaven' a ballad that is not your typical momma song that requires tissue in hand. 'Blood on my Hands' written after hearing the story of a close friend, reminding us to tell our story while we can. Last of his original works is a song winning over critics and fans,, 'God See's'. A song written to reassure us that God indeed see's and cares about everything we go through. Although Corey had plenty of original songs to finish the album, God guided him to other artist work. 'Love Me Anyway' and 'Solution' was chosen not just to complete the album but to make the purpose of 'My Story' complete. Corey has always contributed his career decisions and love for music as a 'God thing'. "I remember sitting in the pew coloring in a book, and the preacher, my Uncle Bobby, was telling how we all needed Jesus, I was only five at the time...but I got it! I asked Jesus into my heart right then and was baptized the next week," Corey recalls. "When I was twelve, I KNEW God wanted me to do something. I did not realize that it was what I was already doing...singing, until almost a year later. It seems like before I knew it, He was taking me down paths I never dreamed, and I love it," exclaims Corey. His five year ministry and career has been nothing short of a journey. Recording with two different labels in the past, releasing five albums and having all single releases move into the top ten in the US and/or internationally. The single 'Real Life' moved to the 1 spot internationally in 2008. On this journey he found what he calls 'home' with C and L Entertainment when he entered a recording, booking, and management contract with those he now calls friends. With worldwide radio air play, national distribution on-line and retail, recognition by major music industry professionals and organizations, calls from concert promoters to open for such people as Newsboys and T-Bone, music videos, film opportunities, churches, youth camps, fairs, and even schools, ministry and career opportunities continue to flourish.
