Kevin Martin is the starting shooting guard for the Houston Rockets. He is known for his lightning quick speed, his pump faking ability, his ability to get to the line, his unique shooting form, his efficiency, and his scoring ability. Two interesting facts about Kevin Martin are that he was born in a small town in Ohio called Zanesville and that he went to a small mid-major school called Western Carolina University. Even though he went to a mid-major school, he was still drafted by the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the 2004 NBA draft. The Kings thought highly of him because he was the nation's 2nd leading scorer in the NCAA and he dominated against mid-major competition. Martin turned out to be much more than the Kings expected and he dominated against NBA players as well. He ended up being one of the most prolific scorers in the entire league. On February 28, 2010, Kevin Martin got traded to the Houston Rockets. The Sacramento Kings decided to trade him because they were looking for a big man to play along side of Tyreke Evans, their rookie shooting guard. Martin has been a great fit on the Houston Rockets and he managed to score 21.3 points per game on the Rockets despite struggling with his shot and battling injuries. He is now averaging above 22 points a game and he's shooting an extremely high true shooting percentage. He is also 2nd in the league in points per 48 minutes. With a talented roster and a solid coaching staff, the future looks very promising for Kevin Martin and the Houston Rockets.
