Hello, WLS community KenzeRestricted comin' at ya!!!!
I had Lap Band Surgery August 13, 2010 and this is my journey!!
After a fill, and over 6 months post op I stumbled across some videos on YT and I can say... it truly changed my life. I had been searching for a support system. I have a close knit circle of "in the flesh" friends and family but none of them have LB therefore they don't REALLY understand what it is like. They love and support me, but you can talk to nonWLS people till you're blue in the face and they will never understand that stuck feeling, or how sweet it feels to step on that scale and see the number dropping! On February 25th I made a choice - I am going to stop thinking my band will save me - and I'm going to Save Myself! Save myself from the plus size rack, from always having to wear sleeves, from no being able to jog, from being the fat one in the picture, from being scared to swing on a swing, from having to only shop for shoes at the mall, and from all the other things being over weight has taken from me!
It's amazing all the support and love you feel from this community, and I am blessed daily to have y'all in my life. I am praying for each and every one of my WLS brothers and sisters out there and I am proud of each and every one of you out there.

My WLS bio;

I was always the chubby kid. My first memory of being "over weight" came in the 3rd grade. I remember being a friends house and she was letting me borrow a pair of shorts...and they didn't fit. I was 8 years old at the time. I was an active kid - cheerleading, gymnastics, basketball, softball, volleyball... I did it all. But my favorite thing to do was Eat! I've always loved food, I am fascinated by it at times. I remember going on my first "diet" around 5th grade. My mother tells me she first realized I was becoming severely overweight when I was about 10 years old. My mother is what I call a lifetime dieter, she has struggled with her weight her entire life and always defined herself as Fat. I know she desperately didn't want me to experience the same feelings she did as a young over weight person. She was ridiculed in high school and always felts ashamed of her appearance. High School came and went and we (mom and me) were on every fad diet known to man. I never lost more than 20 lbs and always gained it back. I was a popular kid in school, being funny sure shadows that 15 extra pounds you put on over the summer vacation!! After graduation my boyfriend and I moved in together and I got to experience the joys of cooking. I learned to LOVE to cook and experiment with foods. I was during this time that I really balloon up to my highest weight 246. 2...4...6

I'll never forget that number and I promised myself I would never see it again. A year before having WLS (Lap Band) I was denied by my insurance for the procedure. So I started Weight Watchers and I learned a lot about what it really took to lose weight. Between WW and the HCG diet I was able to drop about 53 lbs. When I had gained 25 lbs back I decided I would self pay for my Lap Band. I chose to go through True Results and I have been very please with them. After the surgery I had the mind set that LB was gonna do all the work..I was just going to sit back and watch the fat just fall off. Well, 6 months past and I'd lost 12 lbs. TWELVE!! I felt defeated and like a failure. There I was, thousands of dollars in debt for a procedure that didn't work. Then on Feb 25, 2011 found the WLS community on YT, and my life changed. My mind changed and my outlook on the future did a 360! And here I am loosing weight again, feeling empowered, and encouraged, and successful! I say goodbye to each and everyone of my pounds with a smile!!
