This rifle had a selector switch that allowed for full auto - semi auto (3 shot burst) - single fire. I mean that the military issue had the selective fire switch, not necessarily the rifle shown...

1) Time has always been a constant in that it's relative.
2) We already know there are other faster-than-light particles.
3) I believe the implied issue is can those particles go sub-light speed thus leading to a method of making sub-light particles jump the speed-of-light barrier, as we know it.
