I started filming and splicing as soon as Dad would let me use the silent, color 8mm movie camera he'd gotten in 1958, two years before I was born. And I was probably the only person in school to look enviously at the AV geeks and think, "Why do they never give me a chance?" (Back then, girls didn't get to be AV geeks.)In 1985 friends (and filkers) Mike Stein and Robin Nakkula introduced Tom Smith and me to science fiction conventions and filk. One of us turned out to be very talented; the other appreciated talent and started doing audio recording on cassettes. (And if you don't know what I'm talking about, do yourself a favor, crawl out from under that rock, and check out filkertom!)
I finally got a decent video camera a few years ago, and local Irish musicial/entertainer Marty Brandon has been kind enough to put up with me playing with it at his performances, and willing to allow me to post the results. If you enjoy them, please take a second to leave a rating; if not, please leave me a constructive comment so I can improve.
I may have gotten a slow start, but it's the 21st century, and nobody can tell me any more that girls can't be AV geeks. :-)
