Odd thing: I'm a Yank, who'd never heard of the Skyhooks, till I married the woman who lived JUST below the mountain, at 61 Westvale Road. She said she could see the smoke from the crash, and she was really distraught, having loved the band. Weird, how these things have connections, eh?

When I perform this song for audiences, it ALWAYS give me shivers, when I sing the line "Though the cities start to crumble, and the Towers fall around us," given he wrote those lines nearly 40 years before 9/11. Amazing power in that song!

@gliderrider The Guild he's playing on this vid is the one JD bought back in the 60s, a near-twin to my guitar bud's. Later on, it was largely replaced for his stage shows bya custom Yamaha.

Truly one of JDs best this was written at a low time of his life, with his marriage falling apart and his father's death; he could still find the joy in life.

I was alternately amazed and a bit disappointed when a few years ago, I learnt this song WAS NOT recorded live, but engineered to sound like it was....pretty good work for the predigital age!
