@paradesky Yes. 'Ernie' is Ernie Henry, the erstwhile alto sax player for Dizzy Gillespie. He died suddenly in 1957, aged thirty-one.

@josephj735 No it's not. D Dorian gives a much more 'bluesy' sound. The 'A' section is diatonic of D major and the 'B' section is diatonic of E harmonic minor, with a ii-V turnaround into the 'A' section.
