Well, my point really was that all that free passing, open running play that is shown in these clips must be pretty atypical. Think about it: if you have unlimited tackles, why would you risk so much as making a single pass? Possession was everything. It must have been incredibly dull.

Oh, Nathalie - you are so beautiful. I watched SA when I was 15 years old. Watching this/you again brings that time back to me.

In fact, it makes me wierdly and unbearably nostalgic - both for my adolescence, and for wartime - even though I wasn't even born until 1963!

If you do an internet search for "secret army cast interviews" you get links to just that - inteviews with the actors who played Nathalie, Monique, Kessler and Kessler's mistress ... 30 or so years on. The trouble is, even when I download the necessary software, I still can't get the online video...

I never understood the friendship between Monique and Kessler's mistress. It wouldn't have happened, would it? I thought the writers slipped up, there.

Ham acting from the communists. All in all, the bit part actors in Secret Army were mostly pretty clunky. Kind of detracted from the overall scheme of things.

Still a fantastic series, though.
