"Kalomoira, known as Carol in America, IMBD hails from Nassau County, New York. She was born to Greek-American restaurateurs Nikos (Nick) and Eleni (Helen) Sarantis on January 31, 1985. She has one sister.

Despite speaking primarily English, Kalomoira went to Greece on a tip from her cousin, to compete on Fame Story (licensed from Star Academy, a reality talent show similar to American Idol in the United States and Pop Idol in the United Kingdom). She has learned Greek to a much better level, having been previously mocked and criticised for her poor skills in the language"

"After auditions in NY, time passed quickly for Kalomoira. In a week?s time, she comes to Greece, ready for brand new experiences that will change her life. The Fame Story show begins, and Kalomoira immediately wins the Greek audience?s attention by singing Katy Garbi?s ???? ???? ?? ??? ?????? and making a change in the song lyrics. She swapped ?????? ? ????? ??? ?????????? (?I am Kaiti you used to love?) with ?????? ? ????????? ??? ?????????? (?I am Kalomoira you used to love?). This marked the beginning of her story in Fame Story. Her difficulties with the Greek language, and therefore Greek songs, were not significant enough to hold her back. The support of fans, who were won over by her character, talent, innocence, the interest she showed for fellow participants and her positive energy, proved to be a strong "weapon" for success.Each of her performances were marked by her personality. In her first performance described above, she got the audience's attention, while a week later, she comes back for another performance in popular song ?Stand By Me? that caught everyone by surprise. The next week the challenge was even bigger for her, when she was given a Greek song called ?H ????????? ("The Waitress"), which even though seemed totally out of reach for Kalomoira's vocal and style capability. Everyone was wrong Kalomoira nailed the song, managing to make it sound like her own. The majority of the world saw in Kalomoira's kindness and energy the late National Actress Aliki Vougiouglaki, that impression was reinforces when Kalomoira was given Aliki?s song ????????? ("Pussycat"), written by Manos Xatzidakis, which gives the chance to Kalomoira to show her talent once again. The songs started becoming even more challenging for the young singer as her teachers in the academy would push her in singing Greek songs. Her next mission was ???????? ??????? ("You are lighting fires"), which proved to be very difficult for her, but she still managed to be pull it off. A sweet performance in ?Dancing Queen? and a great choreography in ?Conga? follow and Kalomoira makes the whole entertainment industry of Greece talk about her. She was then assigned Barbara Streisand?s ?Woman in Love?, a song with special vocal requirements, the little one surpasses herself and achieves a magnificent performance which surprises everyone with her skills. In the week that followed Kalomoira failed in Stavros Ksarhakos? ???? ??????? ("One morning") and she was challenged in a televoting contest against a fellow student of hers. She then chooses to perform a song from her idol, Madonna?s ?La Isla Bonita? and managed to stay in the game. This was followed by a duet with another participant (Nikos Mihas) in ?Gucci ??? ?????? ("Masai's Gucci"), which gives her a chance to remain another week in the show. Marinella?s ?????? ???????? was a bit difficult for her, but Kalomoira made it through and next week?s ?????????? was pretty easy for her. Her longevity in the game continued with one of her favorite songs, Britney?s ?Oops, I Did It Again?. After many weeks of work, Kalomoira was in the final six of the game with only two performances left. Her rendition of ??? ????????? ("Hey Cazanova") was topped only by her performance of Madonna?s ?Express Yourself? in the final show. Kalomoira won the contest, earned 200,000 euros and a recording contract with Heaven Music."

Eurovision Song Contest 2008:
"She took part in Eurovision 2008 - Belgrad - Serbia, in the Semi Final 1, on May 21, 2008 with the song Secret Combination(music by Konstantinos Pantzis and Lyrics by Poseidonas Giannopoulos).She also worked with Jennifer Lopez for her dress(the pink/purple one)and some clothes for her tour around the world.She managed to pass the semifinals in 1st place but she was unlucky at the final and she took the 3rd place after Russia and Ukraine !
