KURDISH INDEPENDENCE
About Me:
He got them from a Dutchman called Frans van Anraat from a chemical factory in Arnhem called Melchemie owned by Hans Melchers.
Van Anraat is now sentenced to 17 years in jail post appeal by the Dutch court for participating in war crimes and not for knowingly facilitating genocide against the Kurds.
The Americans issued an arrest warrent against van Anraat in 1986 in Italy, but he escaped to Iraq pending the trial.
Frans van Anraat lived in Iraq as an Iraqi citizen since 1986, describing life in Iraq as "plezierig", Dutch for pleasurable, and was back in the Netherlands in 2003 when Saddam went hiding from the Americans in a hole in the ground.
While the former Dutch minister of justice Mr. J. P. H. Donner was trying to bring van Anraat to trial, presumably under American pressure, his colleague the former Dutch minister of interior Mr. J. W. Remkes was trying to prevent the trial by confirming the fact that Frans van Anraat was an informant of the Dutch government in Iraq at the time and a member of the Dutch intellegence, the A.I.V.D.
Minister Remkes was later on described by the Dutch media to be the worst minister ever.
In 2008 the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxime Verhagen from the CDA ruling party (Democratic Christians Appeal) publicly denied that the 80's chemical attacks against the Kurds was an act of genocide.
The Americans intercepted the last gas shipments and replaced them with water barrels, but it was already too late.
Saddam gassed Halabja, Doly Balisan, Bahdinan, Sardasht and many other places in both Iraq's and Iran's Kurdistan.
Saddam was given mass destruction weapons by many other european partners particularly France.
Saddam's systematic ethnic cleansing campaigns, concentration camps, deprotation and mass graves led to the extermination of nearly quarter a million Kurds of a total Kurdish population of approximately 4.5 million in North Iraq at the time. 182,000 Kurdish civillians were destroyed in "Al-Anfal" campaign alone.
Denying catastrophic facts is denying the victims justice even after they ceased to exist.
