Funny dances by Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret in the the nightclub (movie Love in Las Vegas). The Climb - perfomed by The Forte Four.
"What'd I Say" - performed by Elvis Presley - written by Ray Charles -
and
"The Climb" (Take 9) performed by George McFadden with his own group, the gospel quartet, The Jubilee Four, (a.k.a. The Forte Four) in the Elvis movIe, "Viva Las Vegas" .
Recorded: July 10th,1963, at Radio Recorders, Hollywood, and composed by legendary songsmiths, the late Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. This track was produced by Elvis Presley. And it was originally recorded by The Coasters.
The sublime lead bass-singing voice of GEORGE "Biggie" McFADDEN is backed by Elvis Presley & his Jordanaires. George McFadden was also the bass vocalist and member of the gospel jubilee quartet, The Jubalaires in the Forties. The performance by The Jubilee Four with George McFadden in "Viva Las Vegas", makes this movie even more memorable, in as much as, this is apparently the only occasion that an African-American gospel quartet graced an Elvis movie with their special brand of musical talent, and Elvis, much of whose source of musical inspiration stemmed from the African-American community, and had a life-long love of gospel/spiritual music, was fascinated by bass singers, by the resonance of their low notes and once commented, "The Lord messed up when He didn't make me a bass singer." Interestingly, McFadden co-wrote (with WillieJohnson and Ted Brooks, also former members of The Jubalaires), the gospel song,"Bosom Of Abraham" which Elvis went on to record in 1971.
