I only have Fallout 3 installed on my pc and i got it just recently since i wasn't sure my pc could run it and I don't have any dlc's installed so the question is can I install patch 1.7 anyway or do I have to download the dlc's to do it.

The only thing that kills the game for me is the fact that you cannot block the attacks like you can in Oblivion, instead you have a chance to block the attack. Other than that amazing atmosphere, game ''size'', and level design. Still one of the best games ever made.
