---------THE "NEXT JURASSIC PARK" NEWS--------

Writer Mark Protosevich (The Cell, I Am Legend, Thor) is currently writing the script for the next Jurassic Park film.

Steven Spielberg announced at Comic-Con 2011 that plans were made to start work on the new Jurassic Park film, that a story was ready and a script in the works. A Universal representative stated that they are hoping for a 2013 release (20 year anniversary?) after hearing Spielberg's actual comment on the matter it sounds like it won't begin production until then..

(I say "Next Jurassic Park" because there is no guarantee that the next film will be "Jurassic Park 4", or even that it will be a direct sequel, rumor has it that they are taking the back story from the previous Jurassic Park films and running in a new direction with it, possibly starting a new trilogy, again... only rumors)

Living in the Hell Creek formation during the release of Jurassic Park is an experience like no other.

My hometown celebrated and cashed in on the movies release. Dino-fever hit the air, and in an area of many Dinosaur Museums and professional paleontologists, the excitement took off.

My hometown had a museum, but it was very small and only featured 1 dinosaur related relic. As soon as the movies reputation grew from book to production, the museum started to grow as well. Well over 10 times larger, and it's main displays being dinosauria, the museum was finished after the movie hit theaters. June 20th 1993 the Museum had a grand re-opening with the towns yearly, 2 week-long "Rough-Rider-Days" being re-coined "Dino-Days."

The first day was celebrated with the re-opening of the new museum, and a dinosaur themed parade. Moving dinosaurs, people as dinosaurs, Jurassic Park Jeep and Explorer, and much much more. (Like candy!)

Green T-Rex footprints were painted on many of the major streets around town to direct people to the museum and to another event outside of town, they had booths set up under military style tents with many different knick-knacks, toys, books, demonstrations, free sign-up for real Dino-Digs, etc. (I got some sulfur!)

Nearby a Mall was being built, and it also opened during the first day of the event, they named the mall the T-Rex mall, with an Iron Deinonychus statue out front.

Inside the mall they have 1 of 3 complete Triceratops skulls beneath a glass floor display.

The 2nd complete Triceratops skull is in the museum. Yes, we have 2 out of 3 of the Complete skulls right in town just about 2 blocks away from each other. (this is old 1993 news, not sure how current the facts are today.)

I was at the ripe age of 7 and a half when the movie came out and these events took over my town. From then till now I;ve collected many many things Jurassic Park, Most of the toys, the comics, well, basically everything was made into Jurassic Park that could be.

It's hard to beat the impact that the first movie made on me, I wanted to be a paleontologist and a film-maker at the same time! As well as, the real ground-breaking event it was for movies' sake. My passion for Jurassic Park lies mainly in the First film for such reasons.
