I have two wonderful horses who I often refer to as my boys.
First is Julio. He is a 22 year old grey Dutch Warmblood. He is a son of the famous Gelderlander/KWPN stallion Patrick. I have a video of him under my favorites. Julio has been with me for 3 years now. I met him when I first started volunteering for the horse rescue here on the island, WIRE (Whidbey Island Rescue of Equines). He was in foster care and we went to go check on him. I immediately fell in love with him and he was soon ofter to me. He once was a dressage school master. He is a silly guy that I love just as much as my husband or one of my human boys. He has been there for me when I have had nobody to talk to and also when I have needed a shoulder to lean on.
I LOVE YOU JULIO!!!

Next is our OTTB Aly Mackee!! He came to us because the people who adopted him from WIRE were gettting out of horses and the owner of the rescue offered him to me. He race till he was 7, we got him at 15. In those 8 years he was starved almost to death (a body rating of 1), rescued and nursed back to health by WIRE , there for a few years then adopted for 3 years. I got Aly and surprised my husband with him as an anniversary gift. Little did I know what a ball of spunk he was going to turn out to be. When he first came to use it would take about 30minutes to an hour to catch him and now he is standing at the fence waitng for you.
He has come along way in the 1 1/2 years we have had him. He stil has room to improve but he has found a spot in my heart right next to Julio and I wouldnt want it any other way!
I LOVE YOU ALY MACKEE!!
