This is some cool footage. I was just entering my teens in '83-'84 the same time break dancing took the country by storm. Growing up in California we looked up to NYC breakers and Rock Steady Crew. We followed all their moves. Breaking is what we did everyday as kids in those days.
I remember watching this when it first aired on a Saturday morning. Man this brings back some good ol memories. This is true hip hop, not the hip hop of today. Breakers today aren't as smooth and have no flow, they're all about speed n acrobatics. I'll take this any day.
This is how I remember hip hop. Today's hip hop shouldn't even be called hip hop, its a bunch of thugs n gangsters putting out bad messeges to our young.
Early 80's breaking is so much more fun to watch, the moves were more smooth and original. Today's breakers are all about flips n acrobats.
