Josiah Smith Band is an urban rock group from the Twin Cities focused on creating original worship music for the Church. After years of playing in clubs and bars in Minneapolis, Josiah felt a call and passion to produce a fresh style of worship with modern poetry. In 2007, after a year of writing, the band was renamed and reunited under this new purpose. The band's modern rock sound is enhanced by John (MC Outspoken) who spins records and occasionally raps between verses. Deep, thoughtful lyrics are the driving force behind the music, according to Josiah. We want to give modern worshipers a voice that is both natural and beautiful.

A primary focus of the band is also to "defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed." Psalm 82:3. The band supports and promotes Africa for Jesus, an organization that sponsors African native missionaries so they can bring hope, healing, and the gospel to unreached people groups. They strongly advocate native missions organizations such as Gospel for Asia, and challenge followers everywhere to fulfill the great commission.

JSB leads worship at various conferences and churches all over Minnesota and beyond. They have partnered extensively with Youth Encounter, National Speaker Greg Speck, and Bethel College in St. Paul. For booking info, please visit www.josiahsmithband.com.
